The leaf of a balloon fan depicts a blue dancer in oriental costume, frozen in an expressive pose. It is possible that this image is inspired by Diaghilev’s company’s ballet “The Blue God”, which premiered in Paris in 1912. At the bottom left is the advertising inscription: Parfum Mismelis. LT. Piver. Paris. To the left is the publisher: Maquet. Below right is the artist’s signature: G. Delaittre.
On the reverse side in the centre: the address of the perfume house L.T. Piver in Paris.
