“Red Star Line” is a line of ocean-going passenger lines founded in 1871. Main destinations: Antwerpen, Liverpool, New York, Philadelphia. The company operated until 1934, when it ceased operations due to the economic depression.
The front side depicts a gallant scene inspired by the 18th centure, apparently a hint that the journey will be full of luxury and adventure. On the reverse side is the company name: “Red Star Line” and publisher’s stamp: V.ESPI Eventailliste, Paris.
