The front side depicts the landscape and life of the inhabitants of a small town: two boys playing games on the right, a group of young men on the left engrossed in flirting. In the centre is an image of a temple with the Japanese flag raised. The reverse side depicts traditional Japanese subjects such as flowers and birds. The depicted ipomea flowers are supported by the pattern on the guard sticks.
