Double skin leaf painted with two bunches of poppies framing the number “YG” for the famous Parisian café-concert singer Yvette Guilbert (1865-1901) who performed at the “Moulin Rouge” and later at the “Divan Japonaise”. Under number “YG” poem by Armand Silvestre (1837-1901) writer and lyrist. Dedication on the right “To his friend Miss Yvette Guilbert. Georges Cain”.
Georges Cain painter and illustrator, pupil of Cabanel and Detaille, he was curator of the Carnavalet Museum in Paris from 1897 to 1919.
