Printed on paper after a drawing by the artist M. Herreman, signed at the bottom left: M Herreman 1912. The fron side shows a group of officers and their ladies dancing and singing merrily at a ball. The group on the right is dressed after the fashion of 1912, the group on the left is dressed after the fashion of the early 19th century. The Saint-Syr Military School was founded by Napoleon in 1802, so the 1912 ball is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the founding of the school. At the bottom of the fan is the inscription: Bal de la Saint Cyrienne 1912. On the reverse side the inscription: Bail, Cotillon, Paris.
