A very handy folding fan, which people would take with them on journeys, walks, hunting trips and other outdoor activities.
A special mechanism allows the fan to be quickly folded and opened.
A similar patent was registered by the French inventor Boudrot in 1860 (as noted in Maryse Volet’s book “Imagination and its contribution to fans. Patents deposited in France in the 19th century”, p. 84).
