The frame: white mother-of-pearl. There are traces of a dismantled monogram on the guard stick.
The screen shows a funeral procession: two boys digging a grave and preparing a cross, other children carrying a cart with a bird’s body, followed by a weeping woman with a dog and an empty cage. The signature on the bottom left is: “Albert dapres E.Lejeune”, which means that the fan depicts not an original subject, but inspired by a painting by E. Lejeune (on the last picture). On the reverse side is the fan maker’s signature: Duvelleroy.
