Bamboo frame, guard sticks lacquered and tinted black.
Paper sheet, colour print.
On the front side of the sheet is printed an image of two carp in a river. A favorite symbol in Japaneese art, the carp is a fish swimming against the current, symbolizing spiritual victory over self and physical victory over obstacles encountered. On the reverse side is a volour engraving depicting a bird perched on the branch of a blooming tree peony. Any blossom sumbolizes prosperity.
