Uchiwa fan “Two girls with fans”

  • Size with handle: 36 sm

    Leaf: fabric, cardboard, painted.

    Handle: wood, lacquer, painted.

 

The front panel of the fan is made using several techniques:

  • the cardboard base is covered with fabric
  • the girls’ clothing is made using the applique technique
  • the faces: cardboard covered with fabric and painted
  • the hairstyles: cardboard coated with lacquer.

On the reverse side three chrysanthemums and sparrow are painted on metallised fabric.
